Spain's top yogurt brand now in the Phils, goes on nationwide

Creamy Delight Pasteurized Yogurt, Spain’s top yogurt brand, is now available in the Philippines and has begun a school tour that aims to reach more than 200,000 public elementary school students and their parents. Called the “Batang Matibay School Tour”, the nationwide campaign supports the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Department of Health’s (DOH) drive to educate Filipino children and their parents on good nutrition and the importance of eating healthier snacks.

The DOH and the DepEd are doubling up their efforts to make healthy and nutritious snacks top-of-mind to public schoolchildren, especially those from Kinder to Grade 7. Recent statistics show that despite the National Nutrition Service regulating school canteen operations, many public schoolchildren are still exposed to unhealthy snacks being sold by roadside vendors, as well as unhygienic eating habits. As a result, 26 out of every 100 Filipino children aged six to 10 years old are underweight for their age; 33 out of every 100 children are short for their age; while 20 out of 100 children are anemic.

In line with this, the new Creamy Delight Pasteurized Yogurt chose 100 public elementary schools from marginalized communities nationwide, where over 2,000 children per school will be treated to a day of 3D animated video viewing, fun games, and yogurt sampling and tasting. Their parents, teachers, and canteen managers will be given a short “Pamilyang Matibay Workshop” on the importance of developing healthy lifestyle habits and on the benefits of Creamy Delight Pasteurized Yogurt.
